Is Y2Mate free to use?
Yes, completely. There is no charge, no daily cap, and no countdown before a download. The coffee button is optional and unlocks nothing, it just helps cover the servers.
Can I grab the video too, or only the audio?
Both. The dropdown next to Convert switches between MP3 (audio) and MP4 (video). The homepage opens on MP3 and the YouTube to MP4 page opens on MP4.
Do I have to install anything?
No. Y2Mate works entirely in your browser, so there is nothing to download and no account to create.
What quality will I get?
MP3 comes out at 128 kbps and MP4 at 720p HD. Both stay a reasonable size while sounding and looking clean on everyday devices.
How long can a video be?
Up to four hours for MP3 audio and up to 90 minutes for MP4 video. For anything longer or a higher quality, try our main site EzConv.
Why did a video fail to convert?
Live streams, age restricted videos, and anything past the length limit cannot be converted. Otherwise, double check the link is a normal YouTube video address.
Where do my files go?
Straight to your device's downloads folder, from where you can move them into a music app, gallery, or player.
Is it safe?
Yes. Nothing is installed and no account is made. You end up with a plain MP3 or MP4 file, nothing else.
